Travel visa for Singapore is not required by the citizens of several countries to visit the country as tourists. But essential documents like passports, return tickets, entry permits to the next destination are required. The tourists must have sufficient funds for stay. If you want to stay longer then permission of the immigration department is needed.
The people of the following countries do not visa:
United States of America, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Norway, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Italy, Iceland, Luxemburg, Japan, Republic of Ireland Countries members of the British Commonwealth (except India) Philippines (diplomatic, special or official passport holders) Liechtenstein, Monaco, Netherlands, San Marino, Switzerland, Thailand (diplomatic or service passport holders) India (diplomatic or official passport holders)
For getting a tourist visa you need to have a passport valid for six months beyond the stay in Singapore. The Visa is issued for the period of 1 month which can be extended in Singapore to 3 months with the help of the Immigration Department. Your are required to apply for extension of visa before it expires. Following are the documents required for Visa:
Valid passport Two fully filled application forms Passport size photos Journey details in Singapore Proof of sufficient budget
The Visa can take anytime from 4 days to 4 weeks. So it is better to have time at your disposal.
Some of the other things which you have to keep in mind before obtaining Visa for Singapore are:
Women who have more than 24 weeks of pregnancy must have a doctor’s certificate where it is mentioned that it is safe for them to travel. Narcotics are strictly prohibited. If found there are severe punishments and even death penalty. You should check with the High commission or the Embassy before leaving as rules can be changed at short notice.
